Why did you choose to work at HPFC?
Growing up on a ranch in Eastern Colorado agriculture has always been a big part of my life. After graduating college I knew that I wanted to reside in Kansas. Life took me in a few different directions; yet lead me to this agriculture-driven association which puts community and customers first. That is why I chose High Plains Farm Credit to begin my career in Ag lending.

What is the best part about working at HPFC?
The best part of working at HPFC is working with numerous people who have a variety of experiences within the association. Employees are always willing to coach and guide each other through all situations. Despite being spread miles apart the different HPFC locations all have the same goals and work together to achieve them.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is being involved in the agriculture community. Being new to the community, HPFC has allowed me to meet new people quickly. Each operation varies in business strategy and it is compelling to be able to visit and see firsthand how the customers run their operation. Farm visits always allow me an opportunity to learn something new. To see the beaming pride coming from someone whom has put many hours of hard work into becoming successful in their operation is very rewarding.

What is your business philosophy?
You don’t need a suit and tie, the best business can be done in jeans and boots on the ranch with a firm hand shake. Show respect to others as they will give you the same back.
“You can be serious without a suit.”- Googles Ten Things Found to Be True.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When I am not at work I enjoy spending time working on the ranch and being involved in the cattle industry. I enjoy being close enough to Eastern Colorado to go home on weekends and help with my family’s cattle operation. I also appreciate spending time with my two corgis, Charlie and Cash.
