Why did you choose to work at HPFC?
I have been very fortunate in my Farm Credit career. HPFC found me; I was working at U.S. AgBank in Wichita when I was approached to come back to the country. It was like coming home, I knew several of the people who worked here and I would get to be on the front lines of where our business originates – with those who basically “feed the world.” It was an easy decision for me.
What is the best part about working at HPFC?
The people. I have amazing co-workers and I get to help provide services to the best people in the country – our farmers and ranchers!
What is your favorite part of your job?
I get to help people. Whether it is helping a college student learn about our summer internship or helping a tenured employee figure out their retirement process and anything in between.
What is your business philosophy?
When I talk with students at career fairs, I often get asked what we look for in an employee. My response is honesty, integrity, and a good work ethic. The rest can be learned. I believe if you have those attributes – the rest will come.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
My children would tell you I like to shop. But as time evolves, spending time with Gordon, my children, grandchildren, family and friends is what I find myself doing most. I also enjoy traveling – I have some places to go yet to check off of the bucket list!
